Forms of life
Art Recipe, Kabul-Oslo
Installation 2009
The installation was made for an exhibition in Oslo and Kabul where the artist made artworks after exchanging recipes with an artist from the other country.
My recipe was to live like a afghan woman with six children, one cow and no electricity. Instead of doing that I did some research on different groups of people living in similar ways in what we
call the Western World. I found books about remote farms in Hardanger, the Amish in USA, clubs of East Germans living like indigenous people and other utopian and ecological groups.
These were put into picture books from Afghanistan and cut through so that a mix of these groups and afghan things came up and into the afghan landscape.
