In "Friends and family back and forth in time" I have worked with two groups of people at different stages in life, children and adults. The children have written about wishes, hopes and believes about the future, and the grown ups and pensioners have written about their lifes, memories and worldviews. They look towards eachothers points in life. In the video the children read the grown ups` views and the elderly read the wishes and believes of the children. All the participants are from the same village in the norwegian countryside, where I grew up. The film can be seen as a diverse communal portrait where the points of view are not fixed to individuals. Their silent reactions and facial expressions towards what they read and the camera also form a big part of the video.
